Mission Statement
Through truth in Christ we learn, love and serve our community.

Our School Prayer
This is St. Joseph’s School
Let peace dwell here
Let the rooms be full of contentment.
Let love abide here,
Love for one another, love for life itself
And love for God.
Let us remember that as many hands build a house
So many hearts make a school.
St Joseph, Pray for us
St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Pray for us.
Our School
St Joseph's is a Catholic Primary school located in Charlestown, within the city of Lake Macquarie.  The school is nestled in a lush bush setting, providing a stimulating environment for children to learn and play in.

The school has an onsite Out Of School Hours Care Unit (OOSH) which gives parents flexibility and peace of mind knowing their children are safe and secure before and after regular school hours.

We are a Kids Matter school focusing on the wellbeing of students, parents and staff.  You are invited to download our free Skoolbag St Josephs Primary Charlestown app to be kept up to date with regular alerts, weekly newsletters and constant communication between school and home.

St Joseph's has many spacious playgrounds for children to play on during break times including a large oval, cricket nets, basketball court and climbing equipment which are used regularly for sporting events and physical education lessons.

Recent renovations at the school have ensured we have been blessed with a modern computer lab and library as well as new administration buildings and two newly restored classrooms.  Our school has had extensive landscaping to capture the uniqueness of our beautiful local natural environment.

We are very proud of our school and we are confident it will meet your expectations as a parent and your child's needs as a student.

All visitors are very warmly welcomed to visit the school.  We ask that you call the office to arrange an appointment.

Our Staff
The teachers and staff of St Joseph's are an experienced and dedicated group of professionals committed to the academic, social and faith development of every child who attends the school.  Each teacher brings with them many talents, skills and teaching experiences.  We have teachers who specialise in computers education, music, band, library skills, special education, sport and many more ensuring every student is provided with a well rounded education.

Home, School and Parish Partnerships
As St Joseph's we acknowledge parents as the primary educators of their children.  We promote the active collaboration of home, school and parish communities by actively involving parents and the parish in the education process.  Our Sacramental programs are Parish based with many opportunities for parent involvement.  Parents are welcome to participate in school life in many capacities including in the classroom, canteen, library, liturgies and other school events.  Please find Parish mass times in our Contact Us tab above.
